A page for OTs who want more than another job listing
Career decisions are rarely just about salary or location. They are often about the deeper parts of work: whether your caseload feels manageable, whether support is actually there, and whether you still feel connected to the kind of OT you want to be.
Sustainable work
Is my caseload manageable? Do I have enough time to think, write, plan and recover?
Real support
Am I getting supervision, guidance and practical help when the work gets complex?
Career direction
Do I still feel connected to my work, and do I have room to keep growing?
This page brings those questions together in one place, so you can find the resources that match where you are right now.

What makes community OT sustainable?
Sustainable OT work does not happen by accident. It needs structure, support and trust.
At Strive, we believe a healthy OT role should include realistic caseload expectations, protected time for admin and reports, regular supervision, clear tools, practical support, flexibility that works in real life, and a team culture where asking questions is normal.
When those things are missing, even meaningful work can start to feel heavy. When they are present, OTs can do better work and still have energy left for life outside work.

Questions OTs often ask before applying
Do I need NDIS experience to work at Strive?
No. NDIS experience can help, but it is not the only thing that matters. We value clinical reasoning, curiosity, kindness and a willingness to learn. We provide onboarding, templates, supervision and support to help you build confidence.
Is community OT lonely?
It can be in some workplaces. That is why team connection, admin support and regular supervision matter. At Strive, mobile work is balanced with structured support, communication and shared team rhythms.
What support do early-career OTs receive?
Early-career OTs receive supervision, structured onboarding, templates, protected report time and support to build confidence across community OT practice areas.
What kind of clients would I work with?
Strive supports adults in their homes and communities. The work may include Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology, Home Modifications, daily living skills, capacity building and helping people participate more confidently in everyday life.
Is there flexibility?
Yes. Strive offers flexible FTE options, including full-time, part-time and school-friendly arrangements where suitable. Flexibility still needs structure, but we aim to build roles that work for both the clinician and the team.
Can senior OTs grow without becoming managers?
Yes. Growth can include mentoring, clinical leadership, service development, quality improvement, specialisation and shaping how community OT is delivered. Leadership does not have to mean stepping away from the work you enjoy.
A gentle next step
You do not have to decide everything today.
You might start by reading one article, taking the OT Career Check, or looking through the Work With Us page to see whether Strive feels aligned with what you want next.
Wherever you are in your OT career, the goal is the same: to build work that feels purposeful, supported and sustainable.
